The event, held annually on the eve of the Oscars to celebrate the lowest depths reached in film, took place at Los Angeles's Barnsdall Theater last night. According to reports, Bullock joked to the cheering audience that they had "ruined her career" with a "very bad" decision.
Handing out copies of the film All About Steve, for which her performance was slammed, Bullock said: "Something tells me you all didn't watch the film because I wouldn't be here if you really, really watched it and understood what I was trying to say.
"I will show up next year if you promise to watch the movie and really consider if it was truly the worst performance. If you're willing to watch, I'll come back next year and give back the Razzie."
Bullock, 45, who is tipped for an Oscar for her performance in The Blind Side and could be the first actress to secure a Razzie and an Academy Award in the same year, also picked up the Razzie for 'Worst Screen Couple' with co-star Bradley Cooper.
Bullock was the first star to collect the 'Worst Actress' award since Halle Berry took the gong for her 2005 performance in Catwoman.
Michael Bay was named as 'Worst Director' for Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, which also scooped awards for 'Worst Screenplay' and 'Worst Picture'. The Jonas Brothers took the prize for 'Worst Actor' in Jonas Brothers: The 3-D Concert Experience, while 'Worst Supporting Actor' awards went to Billy Ray Cyrus for Hannah Montana: The Movie and Sienna Miller, for her role in G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra.
