Actor John Krasinski will not appear as Captain America in the forthcoming movie adaptation.

Rumours that the star of the US version of The Office had been cast as the lead in The First Avenger: Captain America have been debunked.

The claim was first made by Fox11 yesterday, only for it to later emerge that Krasinski is no longer being considered for the part.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Wilson Bethel (Generation Kill), Chris Evans (Fantastic Four) and Mike Vogel (Cloverfield) remain in the running.
