Christopher Nolan has revealed further details of his approach towards the next Superman film.

In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, the Dark Knight director outlined his and writer David Goyer's ideas for the movie.

"We're approaching it in a not dissimilar way in terms of trying to find an incredible story in a way that audiences can engage with it, the way they engage with contemporary action films," he told the newspaper. "I think David’s approach is a very good way of doing just that.

"A lot of people have approached Superman in a lot of different ways. I only know the way that has worked for us, that’s what I know how to do. Each serves to the internal logic of the story. They have nothing to do with each other."

However, Nolan refused to comment on speculation that the reboot will be titled The Man Of Steel, and downplayed reports that Superman will battle Lex Luthor and Brainiac in the film.

A director for the movie is yet to be announced, but rumour has suggested that Nolan's brother Jonathan could make his directorial debut on the project.
