The actress, who was nominated for an Academy Award for her performance in An Education, has said that she had hoped that this year's ceremony would boost her career prospects, STV reports.
Mulligan said: "I haven't got a job yet - so I used the Oscars to try and get a job. That was my main aim for the event - to get a job. I'm still keeping my fingers crossed."
The 24-year-old has a number of movies coming out this year, including Brighton Rock with Dame Helen Mirren and Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps with boyfriend Shia LaBeouf.
