Dench: Brosnan to return as Bond
Published Thursday, Apr 28 2005, 04:06 BST | By Neil Wilkes
Pierce Brosnan will be back as 007 after all, Dame Judi Dench has revealed.
The identity of the next Bond has been the subject of much mystery since Brosnan was axed last year, with a host of actors - including Dougray Scott, P Diddy, Ewan McGregor, Daniel Craig and Orlando Bloom - all tipped for the role.
Brosnan has been less than discreet about his feelings over his axe, describing it as "shocking," "painful" and "unexpected."
Now it looks as if he may be back on board for the next instalment, a second adaptation of Casino Royale. "Despite the fact that everyone on the face of the Earth has been testing as his replacement, Pierce will be doing it again," said Dench, who plays 'M' in the franchise. "It will be announced come summer."
