Sigourney Weaver joins Silverstone's 'Vamps'

Sigourney Weaver has joined Alicia Silverstone in the cast of horror rom-com Vamps, says The Hollywood Reporter.

The Avatar actress will play Ciccerus, a blood-thirsty vampire queen in the New York-set film, which reunites director Amy Heckerling with her Clueless star Silverstone.

Silverstone and Krysten Ritter will play vampire pals whose immortality is put at risk when love threatens to split their relationship. Weaver is the woman who turned them both into vampires.

Production on Vamps is scheduled to begin this April.
