The Twilight star also said that she felt under pressure to portray her role in the film based on the 1970s all-girl rock group of the same name.
The 19-year-old actress told MTV: "It could never be fun for me to be a rock star because I'm not one. I felt some pressure, especially for the performances because she (Joan Jett) has such a distinct voice."
Describing the personality of US rocker Jett, Stewart added: "She is on fire. She stares the audience down. I've never seen anything like it and you don't know you can do it until you do it for the first time."
