Fans shut down set of 'The Tourist'

The set of The Tourist has reportedly been shut down in Venice today after too many fans showed up to take pictures.

According to TMZ, the number of supporters was too much for security to handle so production had to be wrapped early.

Photos show co-stars Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp being mobbed by fans armed with cameras as they ride down the street in a convertible.

The film, a remake of a French movie called Anthony Zimmer, is about an American tourist (Depp) who is used by a woman (Jolie) to flush a criminal she had an affair with out of hiding.

Cameras began rolling in Venice on March 1 and the expected release date is February 16, 2011.
