John Cusack debunks 'Preacher' rumours

John Cusack has denied rumours that he is to star as Jesse Custer in a movie adaptation of Preacher.

While doing press for 2012 last year, Cusack mentioned that he was working on a comic book movie whose description sounded like Garth Ennis's legendary series, reports MTV News.

When asked about the rumours on the red carpet for Hot Tub, Cusack said that he was not aware of the comic.

"I didn't know about that one, but maybe I'll have to go after it now," he said.

A movie adaptation of Ennis's magnum opus is current in development under Revolutionary Road director Sam Mendes.
