According to Deadline Hollywood, Tom Hanks's Playtone Company is in negotiations to turn the American Idiot stage production into a movie.
The play is based on Green Day's hit 2004 album of the same name. The show premiered at Berkeley's Roda Theatre last year. It is scheduled to open on Broadway on April 20.
Last year, band frontman Billie Joe Armstrong called the musical "a broader version of the album".
