Ewan McGregor boards Madonna's 'W.E.'

Ewan McGregor has reportedly boarded Madonna-directed romantic comedy W.E..

McGregor signed to play King Edward in the film, reports Screen Daily.

The picture revolves around two narrative strings, with one following Edward and wife Wallis Simpson, and the other featuring a modern woman obsessed with Simpson.

The Ghost Writer star joins Vera Farmiga and Abbie Cornish in the project.

Madonna co-wrote the movie's script with Truth or Dare director Alek Keshishian.
