Speaking to Gossip Cop, Smith's rep said that a report about the Oscar nominee returning for back-to back-follow-ups to the 1996 hit is "not true at this time".
Yesterday, IESB reported that Smith had agreed to appear in both sequels, scheduled to shoot possibly as early as 2011.
Director Roland Emmerich was expected to return to helm both pictures.
