Plans for the Transformers director to reboot Roman Polanski's 1968 classic were shelved in 2008.
However, Ebert has taken to his Twitter page to inform fans that the film is now back in the pipeline.
He tweeted: "Michael Bay is remaking Rosemary's Baby. O... kay."
The original, which starred Mia Farrow as the titular Rosemary, depicts a young woman who finds out that she is pregnant with the Devil's son.
