In 2008, it was announced that Tobey Maguire would produce and possibly star in a movie adaptation of the anime series, with Lawrence Kasdan penning the script.
Speaking to Movieweb, White said that he is eying the project, but a deal has not been made.
"I'm interested in doing it. The project is not fast tracked. There is no official thing. They sent me a draft and I liked it. It's a work in progress," he said.
White revealed that the script centres on the "first generation" of Robotech instead of the "Macross" sage.
A potential release window for the project is yet to be announced.
