According to MTV, Natali expressed his interest in a film based on the DC Comics character at the recent WonderCon in San Francisco.
"There are two incarnations of Swamp Thing - both of them are quite wonderful," Natali said.
He added: "[Comic book writer] Alan Moore reinvented the character in the early '80s, and that's actually the version that's a little more interesting to me."
It has been said that Matrix producer Joel Silver was interested in bringing the character back to film, but nothing has been confirmed.
