Speaking to TV Squad, Cross claimed that too much time has passed since the cult sitcom's cancellation in 2006 to make a film spinoff viable.
He said: "I think what I will tell you, it's not going to happen. It's not official, but I just don't think it's going to happen. Way too much time it's been [since the show ended]. I mean, there's so many people involved.
"Everyone's doing their own thing, you know. And everybody's aged. It's just not going to happen. I'm sure I speak for everybody when I say we'd love for it to happen, we'd love to work on it, but just I don't think... not going to happen.
Cross added that he is not certain if Arrested's characters and humour will translate to the cinema, but suggested a reunion as TV one-off akin to the Office and Extras Christmas specials.
"I think it would feel odd on a big screen," he commented. "Anything over 42 inches."
Mitchell Hurwitz is reportedly working on a script for an Arrested Development feature.
Cross will release his stand-up DVD David Cross: Bigger and Blackerer in the UK on June 28 and can soon be seen in sitcom The Increasingly Poor Decisions Of Todd Margaret.
