The filmmakers behind the Warner Bros/DC Comics superhero movie have designed a motion-capture suit with tracking LEDs for Reynolds to wear on set. Green Lantern's recognisable green and black outfit will then be added in post-production by the visual effects team.
Reynolds, who is portraying fighter pilot-turned-costumed hero Hal Jordan, has reportedly been joking on set that he will be turned into an Avatar Na'vi for the finished movie.
Mark Strong, Peter Sarsgaard, Blake Lively, Tim Robbins and Angela Bassett co-star in director Martin Campbell's Green Lantern, opening in cinemas in summer 2011.
