The stars of Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant's Cemetery Junction have admitted that they are unsure if the proposed TV spinoff will happen.

The coming-of-age drama's co-writer and co-director Gervais revealed last year that he wanted to eventually bring the film's characters to the small screen, however the cast believe he might be too busy to make the series.

"It's all gone quiet on that front," Jack Doolan, who plays Snork in the movie, told DS. "If it happens and we're all available then we'd all love to do it. I wouldn't pass up the opportunity to work with them again. Ricky and Stephen are so busy, they're spinning so many plates at the same time. Who knows?"

Christian Cooke added that it's "early days" to be thinking about a TV series: "Let's just hope the film goes well [and then we'll see]."
