Jonathan Liebesman (Darkness Falls) will direct the prequel to Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
The New Line Cinema production will tell the story of Leatherface's origins and create better understanding of the original movie. Again, a group of teens will find themselves terrorised by the chainsaw-wielding maniac and his family.
The script was written by Sheldon Turner and David Schow, and Andrew Form and Brad Fuller are producing the movie, reports The Hollywood Reporter.
