According to The Hollywood Reporter, the duo have been hired to pen a film based on the 1980s Mattel toy property.
The project was originally set up at Warner Bros with Kung Fu Panda helmer John Stevenson in line to direct, but the studio has since parted ways with Mattel.
The toy line was adapted as an animated series in the 1980s and as a film starring Dolph Lundgren in 1987.
Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal and Steve Tisch have boarded the project as producers.
Predators arrives in US cinemas on July 9.
