'Star Wars' breaks UK box office records
Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith unsurprisingly entered the UK box office chart at number one this weekend.

The final instalment of the saga took more than £14m in its first four days of release, almost ten times as much as runner-up Monster-in-Law. The movie also broke the record for advance ticket sales enjoyed by The Phantom Menace, best May opening, dethroning The Matrix: Reloaded.

Further, it has the record for highest Friday to Sunday takings with £10.7m, beating former holder Shrek 2 with £10.6m, and the record for best opening four days, beating Attack of the Clones (£11.4m).

The UK top five:

  • 2. Monster-in-Law
