Speaking to Digital Spy, Hughes admitted that he drew from the Verve and Oasis frontmen when playing the rebellious Bruce in Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant's directorial debut.
He said: "I'm massively into my music so often my terms of reference would be music. It'd be, 'Alright, I'll be a bit more [Richard] Ashcroft in this moment. A bit more [Liam] Gallagher in this'. Cemetery Junction opens in UK cinemas tomorrow.
