The Aviator actor Leonardo DiCaprio is being lined up to star in a remake of Ernest Hemingway's novel For Whom The Bell Tolls.
DiCaprio has apparently expressed an interest in playing the role of Robert Jordan, a teacher who joins an anti-fascist unit during the Spanish Civil War. However, the actor is waiting for a director to be named before he commits to the movie.
Screenwriter David Benioff (Troy) will pen the adaptation. The original version starred Gary Cooper and Ingrid Bergman.
