The Attack of the Show star and director Jon Favreau have remained tight-lipped concerning Munn's role in the film.
In March, she revealed that her original part in the superhero sequel was scrapped and that she was called in to reshoot her scenes as "another character from the Marvel universe".
According to the site's source, Munn has been cast as the socialite-turned-superhero who, in the comics, is part of the Avengers team that includes Iron Man, Thor, and Captain America.
Iron Man 2 arrives in US cinemas in May.
