Gurinder Chadha working on historical epic

Gurinder Chadha has revealed that she is working on a historical epic about India's independence.
Speaking to DS, the It's A Wonderful Life director said that the period drama is in her future plans along with a "beautiful, innocent" children's movie featuring elephants in Kerala.
Chadha disclosed that the India project will include an ensemble cast with several historical figures: "I'm working on a big historical epic about India's independence with [Lord] Mountbatten, [Jawaharlal] Nehru and [Mahatma] Gandhi and a whole host of other characters that are ordinary people."
