Paramount has chosen to move the superhero film's red carpet event to Los Angeles after drifting ash clouds from Iceland's Eyjafjallajökull volcano grounded air traffic in and out of the UK.
The UK premiere was due to take place on April 26 at Vue Westfield in London. It would have been the first premiere to take place at the Shepherd's Bush venue.
Paramount is discussing hosting a special screening of Iron Man 2 in place of the red carpet event.
Miley Cyrus's The Last Song, which was due to bow tomorrow in London, has also fallen victim to the travel disruptions.
