Warner producing 'Treasure Island' update

Sherlock Homes producer Lionel Wigram has started work on a Treasure Island film for Warner Bros.

Wigram is also behind an upcoming Three Musketeers movie, reports Pajiba.

The Treasure Island project is based on the classic Robert Louis Stevenson novel.

UK production company Ecosse Films is also producing a Treasure Island update.

According to Slashfilm, screenwriter Michael Gilio has completed his script for the Warner version, putting it a step ahead of Ecosse's production.

Paul Greengrass was apparently being courted as director for the Warner film, but he reportedly turned it down.
