Olivier Assayas's five-and-a-half-hour crime epic Carlos has been added to the Cannes Film Festival lineup.
The picture stars Édgar Ramírez (The Bourne Ultimatum) as Venezuelan terrorist Ilich Ramírez Sánchez, nicknamed Carlos the Jackal, and charts the raid he masterminded at the OPEC (Organisation of the Petroleum Exporting Countries) headquarters in 1975.
Carlos will screen in the 'Out of Competition' category alongside Tamara Drewe, Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps and You Will Meet A Tall Dark Stranger.
5 x Favela Por Nos Mesmos, made up of five short films by Manaira Carneiro, Wagner Novais, Rodrigo Felha, Cacau Amaral, Luciano Vidigal, Cadu Barcelos and Luciana Bezerra, has also been added to the Cannes schedule in the 'Special Screening' strand.
