Wanted director Timur Bekmambetov has met with Stewart about boarding the project at least once, reports Entertainment Weekly.
Stewart would reportedly play a new fraternity assassin in the follow-up to the hit 2008 action film starring Angelina Jolie and James McAvoy.
Studio Universal has yet to make Stewart an official offer for the role, and it is unclear if her schedule would allow her to board the project.
It is said that Bekmambetov hopes to shoot the film in August, while Stewart's The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn could start filming as early as October.
McAvoy is expected to reprise his role of Wesley Gibson.
