Speaking to MTV, the spy spoof's star and creator disclosed that he and director Jay Roach are planning a new trilogy of films based around the villainous Dr Evil.
"It's hard to keep a Stanley Cup team together and I'm very happy how insanely well it's gone. Then it gets hard to get everybody all together," he said.
The Austin Powers series launched in 1997 and spawned two sequels, The Spy Who Shagged Me and Goldmember. Elizabeth Hurley, Heather Graham, Beyoncé, Michael Caine and Seth Green appeared in the comedy movies.
