'Star Wars' forced off US top spot

The final Star Wars movie has been knocked off the top of the US box office after a reign of just two weeks.

Last week's number two, animated lion tale Madagascar, pulled in $28.7 million (£15.8m) over the weekend to rise to prime position.

After sales of $26m (£14.3m), Return of the Sith fell to number three. Its total gross now stands at $308.8 million (£169.8m).

The highest new entry was Cinderella Man, the story of Depression-era boxer Jim Braddock, which debuted at four with a disappointing $18.6 million (£10.2m).
