'Ghost Rider 2' to go without Cage?
Published Monday, Apr 26 2010, 11:28 BST | By Simon Reynolds

Columbia Pictures must start filming on Ghost Rider 2 before November 14 this year, otherwise the big screen rights to the property will revert to Marvel. A new Ghost Rider film can then be made with Marvel's owner Disney.
Cage, who previously said that he is not sure if he will reprise his role as Johnny Blaze in a new Ghost Rider, is being courted for a third National Treasure and may be filming that when he is required for the Marvel adaptation.
FlashForward writers Scott Gimple and Seth Hoffman, guided by producer David Goyer, have submitted a script for Ghost Rider 2 and the title role may have to be recast if Cage has a schedule clash.
Despite poor reviews, Ghost Rider made $230 million at the worldwide box office. The first film's director Mark Steven Johnson is not expected to return for the follow-up.
