Speaking to Superhero Hype, the exec said that production on the film could begin after the The Avengers wraps up.
"We sat down, and we started working on a calendar of when to get him back into it once [Wright] finishes promoting Scott Pilgrim, so I think towards the end of this year, early next year we'd start looking at early prep for that, but certainly for a release date after The Avengers," he said.
Created by Stan Lee, Larry Lieber and Jack Kirby, Ant-Man made his debut in 1962 on the pages on Tales To Astonish. The pint-sized hero went on to become a founder member of The Avengers.
It is unknown whether the character will make an appearance in The Avengers movie, slated for release in 2012.
