According to The Hollywood Reporter, David Loucka (Dream House) has been tapped to pen the script for Ring 3D and his storyline is said to focus on teens who uncover a VHS player and a tape that brings death to anyone who watches it.
The Ring series is based on Hideo Nakata's Japanese Ringu horror films. Naomi Watts and director Gore Verbinski worked together on the first American remake of the property, while Watts returned with Nakata at the helm for the 2005 sequel.
The two US Ring remakes took in more than $400 million at the worldwide box office.
