John Singleton to direct 'Layover'

Boyz n the Hood director John Singleton has signed to helm crime thriller Layover.

According to Variety, the movie is about an ex-con whose family is kidnapped by corrupt TSA agents during a seven-hour layover.

Jay Longino and Michael Browning wrote the script.

Layover will be Singleton's next directing project after the Taylor Lautner action picture Abduction.
