Common: 'I would play Marvin Gaye'

Common has revealed that he is interested in portraying the late Marvin Gaye in a biopic.

The rapper-actor has insisted that he would be willing to accept the lead role for the speculated project, which has been in the works for years.

Speaking to the Orlando Sentinel, the 38-year-old said: "I've been sniffing around, trying to figure out who might be interested, who might be already planning one. Marvin was a monumental figure in music, important in our lives in so many ways.

"And troubled. He's a character with so much depth. I'd be all-in on that project."
