According to fan site TFW 2005, Dempsey told BOL that he will be playing a dark character in the upcoming sequel.
Meanwhile, Kennedy apparently revealed to an Arizona radio station that he "may have a role in the movie".
Details on the actors' possible roles in the Michael Bay directed film have not been announced.
Neither Paramount Pictures or DreamWorks have commented on the actors' involvement with the project.
Transformers 3 is expected to arrive in cinemas in 2011.
