According to the Los Angeles Times, the film is described as a low budget and more artful version of The Mummy.
The movie will centre on people who are haunted by a mummy curse, with much of the action happening off-screen in the vein of Paranormal Activity.
Spanish director Gonzalo Lopez-Gallego is attached to helm the film and Gladiator producer Douglas Wick is in negotiations to produce.
