'Precious' producers for 'Judy Moody'

The producers of Precious are developing an adaptation of children's book Judy Moody and the Not Bummer Summer.

According to Variety, John Schultz has signed to direct the picture from a script by the authors of the book, Kathy Waugh and Megan McDonald.

The book centres on the humorous life of a third-grader named Judy Moody.

Production is scheduled to begin in August in Los Angeles.
