The pair met on the set of the final instalment of the saga - Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows - and have been dating for six months, reports The Mail On Sunday.
The announcement has stunned fellow cast members working on the film, in which Wright, 19, plays Ginny Weasley and Campbell Bower, 21, plays Gellert Grindelwald.
A source said: "We are all absolutely shocked and surprised and can’t believe that Jamie has asked Bonnie to marry him.
"They met on the set of the movie and Jamie fell for Bonnie really badly. He says they are completely in love. It all seems very whirlwind, but they both say it's the real deal."
The film adaptation of Deathly Hallows, the final book in JK Rowling’s epic saga, will be released in two parts, in November 2010 and July 2011.
