Although it was previously assumed that Cumming would reprise the role, it seems that Twentieth Century Fox have decided otherwise, reports Empire Online.
This revelation comes in the wake of a change of the film's director. Brett Ratner (Red Dragon; Rush Hour 2) will now be at the helm, replacing Matthew Vaughn who quit the project because he was unwilling to spend too much time away from his family.
Meanwhile, those confirmed to appear in X-Men 3 include Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Famke Janssen, Vinnie Jones, Kelsey Grammer and Magge Grace.
