'The Hitcher' remake finds director

Music video director Dave Meyers will helm the remake of 1986 thriller The Hitcher.
The movie will be produced by Platinum Dunes, the company which has recently released remakes of The Amityville Horror and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
The original Robert Harmon-directed movie saw C. Thomas Howell as a teenager who picks up homicidal hitchhiker Rutger Hauer who refuses to be shaken off.
