Natalie Imbruglia is joining the cast of Australian thriller Elise.
The film will see the singer take on the role of a woman whose life is profoundly affected by her sister's disappearance 20 years earlier, reports BBC.co.uk.
Producer Rosemary Blight (Fresh Air; In The Winter Dark) is quoted as saying: "It's very much a collaboration between Natalie and the director, James Bogle (In The Winter Dark; Mad Bomber In Love). We've been developing it for a long time with Natalie.
"It will be made in Australia and we're just waiting to set the dates once a hole in her schedule emerges."
Imbruglia's last big screen outing was Jonny English, starring Rowan Atkinson.
