Steve Carrell apologised to residents near his latest film set by sending them flowers and offering them food.

Carrell, who is both the star and producer of Date Night, personally visited 24 houses near the set of the movie to say sorry for any disruption which might be caused during the filming process.

A source told Bang Media: "People were impressed that Steve, who's both star and producer, cared enough to consult them - but they got an even bigger surprise the next day. A florist truck delivered huge flower arrangements to every home as a token of his appreciation.

"Now it's like a big block party every night, with neighbours and their kids watching the movie action and snacking on craft table goodies."
