Jack Nicholson played Jack Napier a.k.a The Joker in Tim Burton's 1989 Batman, and the character is set to return in Chris Nolan's follow-up to Batman Begins in which references to the villain are made.
Other popular possibilities amongst fans are Mark Hamill of Star Wars, who voiced the character in the animated TV series, Crispin Glover (Charlie's Angels) and Lachy Hulme (The Matrix Revolutions).
