Virginia Madsen and L.Q. Jones have joined A Prairie Home Companion, says The Hollywood Reporter.
Robert Altman (Gosford Park) will direct the picture based on a script by US radio host Garrison Keillor. The film will be set behind the scenes of one of Keillor's shows.
Also appearing will be Meryl Streep, Kevin Kline, John C. Reilly, Woody Harrelson, Lily Tomlin, Maya Rudolph and Lindsay Lohan.
Filming is due to start next month in Minneapolis.
