John Hurt joins 'Melancholia'

John Hurt has boarded the cast of Lars von Trier's upcoming movie Melancholia.

Hurt joins Kirsten Dunst, Kiefer Sutherland, Charlotte Rampling and Charlotte Gainsbourg in the disaster film, says The Hollywood Reporter.

Stellan and Alexander Skarsgard and Udo Kier have also signed to appear in the picture.

Melancholia has already landed a competition slot for the 2011 Cannes Film Festival.
