J.J. Abrams has signed to produce an upcoming heist film.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the movie is based on an article from Wired magazine titled 'The Untold Story of the World's Biggest Diamond Heist' by Joshua Davis.

Field of Dreams writer Phil Alden Robinson has agreed to pen the script for the Paramount project.

The article tells the true story of an elaborate diamond heist in Antwerp, Belgium orchestrated by a group of Italian thieves.

The group reportedly made off with about $100m (£70m) in diamonds, jewellery and gold from the Antwerp Diamond Centre in 2003.
