Filming was taking place at a New York toy shop when the crew member, who had worked through the night, tumbled from a set lift, according to the New York Post.
The man was rushed to Bellevue hospital where he was said to be in a stable condition.
A witness said the drama unfolded at about 6.30am, adding: "People were concerned. There were children there."
The movie, which is helmed by Raja Gosnell, stars Katy Perry, Alan Cumming, George Lopez and Kevin James.
