Carl Erik Rinsch is in talks to direct a remake of 1970s sci-fi thriller Logan's Run.
Joel Silver and Andrew Rona are producing the picture with Akiva Goldsman and Kerry Foster, reports Deadline.
The remake's story will reportedly be closer in tone to the novel on which the original 1976 film was based.
The story centres on a man who attempts to escape his mandatory death sentence before his twenty-first birthday.
Michael Yorke starred in the original as a man who was turning thirty.
Rinsch, a commercial director, is said to be a protégé of Hollywood filmmakers Ridley and Tony Scott, directing ads for RSA.
No other production or casting details have been announced.
